ASSEMBLEY GUIDE

All Rook bicycles follow the same basic guidelines as set out in the assembly guide below. Clear a space and let's get down to business.

Already setup and want to ride fixed?
You'll only need 3 basic tools:

4mm Hex Key
5mm Hex Key
15mm Spanner

"Who's sexy new package is that? Oh, for me? Hell Yeah!", Let's get it rolling!

Your Rook may be strapped or taped. Either way, you'll need to open that box. Cut the tape or straps carefully.

Pull the bicycle up and out of the box.

Place the bicycle on the floor with the front wheel facing up.

Cut the zip ties securing the wheel and carefully remove it from the packaging. Remove the axle protector and set the wheel to the side for now.

We're using a workstand but you can very easily do this on your floor at home. Set the frame down on the floor with the fork protector still attached.

Using the 4mm hex key, remove the stem plate. Set the bolts to one side.

Position the handle bars centered on the stem. If you have drop bars apply the same instructions.

Place the stem plate on top and loosely screw the bolts into place.

Grab the front wheel that we set aside earlier and loosen the nuts on either side of the axle. Remove the fork protector from the fork and slide the fork onto the wheel. TIP: Make sure the break tension switch is in the UP position.

Using your 15mm spanner, tighten the nuts on either side of the wheel.

v
Grab the seat and post assembly (pre assembled) and a small amount of grease (available at your local hardware store). Grease the seat post with a fingertip of grease and get a nice coating on the lower third of the seat post.

Loosen the seat post clamp using your 5mm hex key.

Locate the smaller box which came in your big Rook box. Open it up and grab your pedals. Make sure the pedal marked L is installed on the left and the pedal marked R is installed on the right.

Add a small amount (fingertip) of grease to the thread of the pedal.

Finger tighten the pedal to the crank arm and then tighten with your 15mm spanner. Make sure these are well secured.

Repeat this process for the other side and make sure the pedals are spinning smoothly.

The tyres are not shipped fully inflated in case of pressure fluctuations in transit. You'll need to pump them up. Our tubes come standard with Presta valves, but we include a valve adapter with every bike in case your pump only supports the Schrader valves.
Presta valve operation: Unscrew the dust cap. (don't lose this) Then unscrew the valve core and attach your pump nozzle.

And you're all set!
